Trained in the public sector, Christopher spent more than 20 years working in economic development, a leader in UK location marketing, developing pioneering partnership agencies in various cities around the UK, culminating in being invited to tackle the UK’s biggest challenge for economic restoration, the city of Liverpool and the region of Merseyside.
Christopher has considerable experience in developing strategic operational partnerships between the public and private sectors. In Liverpool, after seven years of marketing the city internationally as Chief Executive of The Mersey Partnership, he undertook various roles to help the city develop as a Tourism and Knowledge Industry Champion, including the unusual assignment of developing the Anglican Cathedral as a business focused centre of excellence, supporting its primary role as the spiritual hub of the city and region.
Christopher has co-founded and leads an active business network across the North West Region. He functions as an advisor and investor to a range of businesses including internet trading, social housing, health support and community economic development. As a writer and author he has explored new approaches to development under the banner of “Generous Economics”.
